Activewear Meets Fashion & Inclusivity in New Brand ‘THE CLCK’

WOTC catches up with Shannon Jennings after she relaunches her brand, The CLCK

The past couple of months have been a whirlwind for Shannon Jennings, founder of fashion brand The CLCK. Launched last year, the brand is steadily growing and it’s no wonder when the woman behind it has a tenure of experience in the fashion industry. The brand's message is body positivity and had been in the works for over two years before launching, just at the beginning of its impact, we caught up with Shannon to discuss all things The CLCK and what the future holds for the brand.

Bethany: How did the idea come about?

Shannon: The brand was birthed out of Shannon not being able to find clothes that fit her body shape and were stylish and comfortable. I lived in activewear growing up not being able to find clothes that fit my body shape, made me feel comfortable and looked good as well. I wanted to create a solution focused brand, it had to be a brand that made women look and feel amazing and still had that strong fit. Most brands don’t really cater for that strong fit even though they’re labelled as inclusive. After working in the industry for 10 years in marketing and fashion I just knew I needed to start something myself. 

Bethany: What is the main inspiration behind the brands?

Shannon: Activewear, shapewear fashion are the main inspirations and building an inclusive brand around that, not just inclusive at face value but in the fit and cut of the clothes. We also wanted to make our products affordable for our customers, affordable but made from good quality materials, so when worn they feel good and last long. A memory that comes to mind is going out with friends and not being able to wear my activewear leggings which I love because they weren’t fashionable. The leggings in the brand are stylish and fashionable without losing the element of comfortability, which is such a missed opportunity in the market. I want women to feel good and comfortable in their body shapes because it’s something I struggled with, and I couldn’t find a brand that did that for me at the time. You must know your customer and know what she wants and that’s what I believe we’ve done as a brand. We also wanted to make our products affordable for our customers, affordable but made from good quality materials, so when worn they feel good and last long.

Bethany: What are the key products of the new collection?

Shannon: The bestseller of our most recent collection was the ‘Cindy’ dress which sold out within two weeks of launch. For Autumn/Winter we’re pushing the boundaries even more with the designs in the collection. 

Bethany: When is the new collection out and what would you say are the key pieces?

Shannon: We have another dress coming out in this collection with long sleeves. However, this collection will feature different materials such as high stretch and fitted fabrics but in autumn/winter colours. The collection will be out very soon, potentially the first week in October.
