Liana Nunes
Liana Nunes is the founder of LN Micropigmentation Clinic, her beauty and medical clinic and theLN Academy London, renowned for its microblading. A mother, specialist, businesswoman and the UK’s permanent concealer pioneer, a Brazilian technique that treats and camouflages dark circles, she relocated to the UK twelve-years-ago, after ending her tenure as lawyer in her country. Finding that her role didn’t satisfy her creative side, she explored science, medicine and beauty.
Nunes entered the beauty industry five-years-ago after discovering microblading on social media. At the time, though she wasn’t completely sure what it was, she carried enough interest to study the beauty procedure back in her home country. Today, Nunes currently holds fifteen professional certificates across the UK and Brazil, she began practicing with friends to gain experience.
Her beauty clinic located in the affluent area of Chelsea on Fulham Road, offers a number of treatments from micro blading to pigmentation treatments.
The idea for the LN Academy London, was born amid the pandemic, after Liana consulted friends who helped her to better understand how to put everything together. Liana is now developing personalised kits for her students, meaning microblading boxes would be personalised to each student. Despite the industry shutting down for 9-months during the global pandemic, Liana found strength amongst the chaos to keep going which in turn, birth her academy.
The academy works through one-to-one training courses, which Liana is currently testing and intensive courses, which is perfect for potential students with little to no experience and those who hope to be part of the semi-permanent makeup world, which includes both theory and practical elements.
Liana looks to redefine beauty and encourage women to embrace their diversities.
WOTC asked the thriving entrepreneur whether she had always envisioned herself within beauty. “Not at all,” she reveals. “I never thought I would be in this position. To be honest, I’m very proud of myself.”
Liana is driven by her determination to provide a better life for her daughter and family. She wishes to give her customers more than simply a beauty treatment - she wants to give them confidence. She recently began working with cancer patients in hospitals, further cementing that the L N Micropigmentation Clinic was not only about physical beauty.
For the remainder of the year, Liana looks to grow her academy and create more projects. To any women wishing to start their own businesses in the future, Liana advises new business owners to work hard, be patient, and remain resilient. “Be professional and be honest with your customers. Your recognition will come, it is just a matter of time. Be patient and things will come up. Never give up!”
