People often look at the finished garment without appreciating the very beginning stages of fashion design. It's interesting to see the new appreciation of fashion illustrators and the unique sketches of each artist. Here's the top 5 fashion illustrators to keep your eye on.
1. Hatty Pedder
A British artist based in Dubai who trained at Central Saint Martins in London where she gained a BA degree in Graphic Design specialising in illustration. As well as illustrating for many agencies, publications and leading brands internationally, she travels to different cities around the world creating vibrant collections inspired by her observations, experiences and perceptions.
Tiffany & Co a series of photomontage illustrations were commissioned for The Tiffany Diamond event Celebrating Tiffany’s 175th Anniversary.
2. Blair Breitenstein
Blair's illustrations exude an expressionist take on contemporary high fashion and is largely influenced by high fashion photography using messy smudged lines and layered watercolours. She describes her process as spontaneous and has high profile clients from Prada to Oscar de la Renta.
