Wild Source Apothecary
Founder - Kate
29-year-old Kate had always been interested in skincare, making her first face mask aged six years old, using whatever she could find in her friend’s mother’s cupboards. Having suffered from severe skin issues from a young age, she wasn't able to use the kind of skincare that her friends were using and the only thing that really worked for her at that time, was steroid cream. It was prescribed from her doctor and was unfortunately scaring her skin resulting in hyperpigmentation.
Upon cycling to work one day, she spotted some rosehips in a bush which she picked and put in her rucksack for later. She began to Google how to make rosehip oil and spent that day and the next in a very long learning process to make her own. Upon putting the solution on her skin, she had fallen in love. The effects it had on both Kate’s skin and her eczema was life changing.
Kate began Wild Source in the summer of 2016. It took her a year. In October 2017, she launched the brand from her dining room with a range consisting of just four products. Whilst Wild Source does offer luxurious products to its customers, it is still very stripped back, only using very minimal ingredients. Particularly for those customers who like Kate, have always loved Rosehip oil but do not want to purchase their skincare from the health store, the brand is an opulent alternative.
The Miracle Oil has reigned as Wild Source’s bestseller from the very beginning, was the first product that was ever made and can be used on the skin daily.
The cleansing oil is also a bestseller as it takes off every ounce of makeup and is incredibly dense.
Three products from the brand’s extensive skincare line have been awarded the Attract Beauty winner 2020.
