Mo Chroi SkinKare: Lauren Mckaig
Mo Chroí SkinKare is a unique skincare brand, offering natural vegan-friendly products to restore, repair, and protect the skin. Founded by Lauren McKaig, of Norwich Face & Body Clinic, she aims to educate the world to take care of their skin and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
In her younger years, McKaig suffered from numerous skin conditions such as eczema and acne. “Add a dairy intolerance to the mix all at the age of 14, it really did seem like the end of the world.”
With that, she made changes to her lifestyle, eating habits and experimented with several different products in a search for the one skincare product that gave her the flawless skin she could only dream of. From this, her interest in skincare became an obsession and she embarked on a mission to learn just how well-being, lifestyle, and a person’s environment can affect the skin.
The skincare guru never really found her one life-changing product, but she did discover a new love - the use of oil on her skin. Bio-Oil became her go-to product, and she became less willing to purchase expensive skincare products that promised the world, but delivered anything but.
Aged 31, McKaig opened The Norwich Face & Body Clinic, where she offers advanced treatments and aims to empower and educate her clients on the topic of skinkare. “When people come to me, I want them to leave with more knowledge. When you start to take care of yourself, everything else falls into place.”
Three years on, and having trained with some of the most high-end skincare companies in the UK, McKaig has undertaken extensive research on different ingredients, formulas and how they affect the skin. After spending most of lockdown planning her brand, in July 2020 she launched her very own skincare brand Mo Chroí, offering its intensive vitamin C formula, suitable for all skin types.
Currently, there are three products in the Mo Chroi range with McKaig’s Signature Night Recovery Oil being the favourite amongst her clients. This marine-based recovery oil has an enriched blend that restores, nourishes, and protects your skin in its most receptive state, as you sleep. It can also double up as a second Kleanser; also part of the line, for a more dewy, hydrated appearance.
