Your Christmas Home Wishlist

Words Sayo Akinlude

Well, it’s no secret 2020 has been a whirlwind of surprises, with everything happening it’s only right we help you create the perfect Christmas wishlist. With many countries all over the world currently on lockdown or curfew, we came up with the perfect gifts to enjoy staying at home. We’ve included every room in the house, from the bedroom to the bathroom to the living and dining room and well, some things you can use just about anywhere.

10. UGGS slippers

This year has been the best time to rock your old pyjamas, invest in news one, miss match t-shirts and even gym wear (home workouts are a thing now) all day, every day. Now, when it comes to your feet, it’s only right to invest in a pair of house slippers since we're home most of the time. Not only are the UGG slippers extremely comfortable and cosy, but they’re also versatile - suitable both indoors and out, so there’s no need to change to nip to the corner store.

5. Hermès Blanket

We’ve all probably been spending too much time on the sofa and in the living room and well, the sofa is starting to look dull and old and we don't respect it like we used to. So, let’s spice things up with a luxury blanket; something simple but effective and brings back the ‘ooo’ effect to your sofa. This Hermès throw is a classic, with just the right amount of detail to stand out, but still very subtle.

4. The Decor Book You Need: EAT DRINK NAP

3. New Pots: Le Creuset Set

I mean I don’t know about you, but my kitchen and I have become best buddies. It’s safe to say we have all increased the amount of time spent in the kitchen, which brings me to our next item. The Le Creuset Pot set. I know we probably skipped past them a few times but honestly, there’s no better time than now to invest.

Not only do they stock a wide range of colours, they’re hard wearing and do chip or break easily (which is important, with the increase of time spent cooking these days). They have also been designed for both to be part of the kitchen. You can have your utensils to add that pop of colour and boldness to your kitchen.

2. Amazon Echo 8

Oh yes, we didn’t forget you, tech lovers. It’s only fitting that the Amazon Echo 8 is on the list. Alexa can now ‘show’ so much more with 8’’ HD screen and stereo, from helping to manage your day, to connecting video calls and messaging, you can even manage your smart home (we can all use a little bit of help these days). From helping you bring up step-by-step recipes to glancing at traffic and weather updates - the perfect help for any room.

1. Diptyque Paris Candle

Do not be shocked that candles are on top of this year's Christmas list. They can be used for any room, as well as aesthetic purposes and aromatherapeutic benefits. Fun fact: different scents can affect you positively - helping you relax, uplift your spirit, relieve stress. The scent from a candle can stimulate the amygdala and the hippocampus, which is the regions of the brain related to your memory and mood. So, in other words a good scented candle can change your whole mood and bring back good memories.
