Editor’s Letter

Oxford Languages defines art as the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.

With that, The New Art Issue brings together a collective of pioneers within their own unique art forms. Seema and Sunny Chadha are the bombshell couple who founded VENUS ET FLEUR, their deluxe collection of rose arrangements, loved by celebrities including the Kardashians, Oprah and Kevin Hart, to name a few. Entrepreneur and disruptor Marine Tanguy is  changing the sphere of the art world, with her creative agency, MTArt Agency, lending a voice to upcoming artists. David Aiu, Servan-Schreiber, Delphine Diallo are just some of the names on the MTArt roster. The french beauty has also been the muse for luxury fashion house Chloé and lifestyle brand Tory Burch. For this issue, Marine’s central London home became WOTC’s set for an afternoon as we photographed the young entrepreneur wearing indie designer House of Sunny. American businesswoman Jamie Kern Lima, earned her millions through her billion-dollar cosmetics company IT Cosmetics and changed the beauty sphere back in 2008 when she made a statement by using real women, with real issues for her beauty campaign. As CEO and founder of leading management agency The Wall Group, Brooke Wall is recognised for ushering in the celebrity stylist and represents Hollywood’s most profiled makeup artists, stylists and hair stylists to the stars including the likes of Viola Davis, Meryl Streep, Rachel Zoe, Gigi Hadid, Amanda Gorman, Alicia Keys, Nina Dobrev and Yara Shahidi, alongside co-directors and Senior Vice Presidents Alison Bird and Kate Stirling who was also Senior Vice President; and finally, the Kemp family, who are slowly but surely, creating a dynasty with their portfolio of hotels and restaurants which include The Whitby Hotel in New York and The Soho Hotel in London, their publications and their collection of lux, home must-haves which included bedding, wallpaper and furniture. Founder and Creative Director of the Firmdale Hotels, Kit Kemp MBE, works alongside two of her three daughters, giving them the opportunity to carve a name for themselves also.

Keeping to the topic of the arts, we also feature international supermodel, activist and actress Eunice Olamide and one of the leading voices within arts and business, Katy Wickremesinghe, plus find out what songs the WOTC editors are listening to and what books they’re indulging in this summer. We’ve also handpicked some of the best galleries, museums and events around the world.
