Beauty Edit: WOTC’s Most Iconic
Beauty Looks
Words Shemaiah Heckman
Here are some historic beauty moments that we just can't forget about - moments we were literally drooling over, featuring some of the most iconic runway looks.
Zendaya
Zendaya brought warmth to the red carpet with a coral lip and voluminous auburn hair for the 2017 Met Gala, which honored “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between."

John Galliano Fall/Winter 2009
Breathtaking theatrical, glamour looks are what you can count on John Galliano for. Going for a ‘frozen Ukrainian bride’ look here, with translucent-looking silvery skin, glimmering eyes, and embellished veils.
Gucci Fall/Winter 2011
A good red lip never goes wrong — fact. But let’s not gloss over the other very important detail here. These clumpy, spiked-out lashes courtesy of Pat McGrath, who maybe didn’t realize she would spark a runway trend, are the beginning of a trend of tarantula lashes we’ve been seeing in fashion week shows up to today. So much so that Maybelline even came out with a purposefully clumping mascara so anyone could easily create the look.
The Blonds Fall/Winter 2014
Nail Art that is unfathomable! If you want to see a SHOW, The Blonds will always give you one. It's a good job these nails are only for 15 minutes of the show because it would be difficult to do anything wearing them!
Gareth Pugh Fall 2015 LFW
One of the designers with the most heart-stopping looks was Gareth Pugh who sent his models down the runway with a warrior-like cross of red emblazoned on their faces!
Dolce and Gabbana Spring/Summer 2015
The Spanish brides at Dolce & Gabbana were nothing short of beautiful, with a rose crown embellishing the pulled-back hairdo and gold crown. Burgundy lips and a demure cat eye brought together this richly regal look that made the otherwise classic makeup look that much more royal. Some of the models had gold-encrusted stereo headphones to wear as their golden crown, which pretty much makes this one of the prettiest and coolest looks to date.

Prada Fall/Winter 2015
The beauty look you see on Lineisy Montero may not look 'iconic' at first glance, but then you learn that she’s the first black model who walked in a Prada show with her natural hair - no chemicals or styling tools, a statement that caused ripples throughout the fashion and beauty industry. Black hair on the runway is rarely seen in its natural state, and Prada has had a reputation for keeping their castings on the European, Anglo-Saxon side for the longest time. It was amazing to see Lineisy down their runway with her tiny afro, but it's a cue for other fashion brands to catch up— natural beauty in its purest form.
Givenchy Spring/Summer 2016
Pearl encrusted facemasks - a look we just can't forget. This was not the first time Pat McGrath has totally concealed models’ faces in jewels, tulle, lace, and beads, but it does happen to be the most recent (and prettiest).
