Beauty with Kandice Delgado
Words Kandice Delgado
These days mental health has become increasingly important. I think if there’s one thing we all have learned, it’s that when you look good, you feel good too. There were months during 2020 when I, myself, didn’t wear a stitch of makeup. But I had this moment where I got ready to bring in the new year, I looked in the mirror and thought, ‘there she is.’ I had almost forgotten (caught up in the fight and hope for a better tomorrow) that a great face of makeup can make you feel unstoppable. So whether you are working from home or just staying in, here’s two looks you can easily achieve.

Monochromatic Glam
This is one of my favorite looks to create. Monochromatic glam is a look that consists of using the same tones and colors for every part of the face. When using neutrals, it can make your makeup really stand out without wearing too much.
Monochromatic pro-tip: Pick one product or color that you're going to use on your eyes, lips, and cheeks! My favorite type of product for a look like this is usually cream based. For this glam I chose Fenty Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in the shade ‘Yatch Life’
Here’s my go-to products for this look and season;
Key products used:
Skin: Laura Mercier Nourishing Rose Oil + The Perfect Cream Multitasking Moisturizer Tatcha The Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream
Foundation: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation
Eyes, Cheeks, & Lips: Fenty Match Shimmer Stix in shade ‘Yatch Life’ ’Glow: Fenty Diamond Bomb in shade ‘Rose Rave’

Simple. Clean. & Winged.
The reason I love this look so much is that I created it using only two colors for the eyeshadow. Sometimes the best way to learn how to apply eyeshadow, is to not over complicate it by using too many shades. I also really enjoy this look because a good eyeliner can go a long way. I call this eyeliner the ‘Kendall Flick’. Here's how to achieve this look:
Eyeliner Pro Tip: For beginners or those of us that struggle with eyeliner start by using brown eyeshadow and a wet angled brush to create the outline for your eyeliner.
Remember to start off really close to your lash line, and make the wing as small as possible. Pull out the end when finished. Using shadow makes it easier to correct any mistakes. Top with a black or brown liquid eyeliner or you can leave it as is!
Key products used:
