With a multitude of global cover girls spanning a coveted list of everyday women, world leaders, front runners and disruptors, WOTC Magazine is reshaping media. Following a successful year of issue releases covering the most pressing topics like our all-important Education Issue and our special fashion issue introducing the sustainable community, as well as events which included Europe’s biggest Women’s History Month conversation: The Now Woman Summit; WOTC Fashion Week, showcasing new female founders and inspiring the fashion industry with a number of insightful panels in the heart of Mayfair and Central London, and closing the year in Knightsbridge with the New Faces Awards 2021, which sought to honour 60 ‘new faces’ following their achievements and contributions to their industries and the community, alongside hundreds of London’s decisions makers, and influencers.

WOTC Magazine is seeking freelance political writers to contribute to Latest, WOTC Magazine’s online platform and its print issues.

The Role:

You will cover the latest news and breaking stories in politics and government, writing about political news and events.

You must have a strong understanding of the political landscape in UK and US, this includes an awareness of current events, past history, and any relevant policies or legislation that might affect the lives of citizens. You will report to the Deputy Editor.

Day to day:

  • Interviewing politicians, government officials, and other newsworthy individuals to gather information for stories.

  • Covering breaking news stories such as natural disasters, terrorist attacks, and other emergencies.

  • Gathering information about candidates and political parties, analyzing the data, and writing articles that provide insights into current events.

  • Reporting on public policy issues such as economic stimulus packages, healthcare reform, taxation, and education spending.

  • Covering political conventions, debates, and other campaign events to provide analysis of candidates’ strategies and tactics.

  • Interviewing candidates for elected office about their positions on issues affecting their constituents and the country as a whole.

  • Covering other topics such as political scandals, campaign fundraising, and ethics violations involving public officials.

  • Reporting on legislative action in congress, including committee meetings and floor debates.

  • Conducting research to provide background information for coverage of political topics such as campaign financing or foreign trade agreements.
