Delia and Toni are the founders behind luxe loungewear brand Iremía combines both their love for fashion and their faith. WOTC catches up with the duo to discuss how they combine the two. 

WOTC: So, Delia and Toni, talk to us about your journeys?

Delia: I've been into fashion ever since I was young. For me, creating is where I feel the most at peace. I couldn't see myself doing anything else if I'm honest. I remember being 16-years-old and doing internships and shoots, to now actually being able to own my own brand. I believe your purpose is what comes naturally to you without having to force anything, so it all flipped when I decided to take a leap of faith and trust in God, truly with everything. I want my work to mean something in this world, and so I always bring myself to the present, and I clear my mind completely of any thoughts and just try to move in that moment because the truth is all we have, is right now.

Toni: That's exactly what has brought us together. We have similar journeys in the sense that I've always had a strong interest in fashion and always been a creative person. For example, when I was younger, I used to come home from school and create loads of designs. I used to customise different pieces and then I would sell them on. I've always had that business, entrepreneurial fashion interest. 

I've also been through different phases of expressing myself through fashion, from vintage clothing to shopping in charity shops. In terms of my path, I decided not to take the traditional path where I would have actually studied fashion brand management at university. My interests in fashion took a backseat, whilst I pursued my property business. 

During the pandemic, I experienced depression and began to question the meaning of life. What is the actual purpose? Why do we work so hard just to die in the end? I had always believed in God - which is what the brand is about, but I decided to develop that relationship further with God. So not only did my love for God grow at that time in the pandemic, but also my love for loungewear as well. God reminded me of my love for fashion.

WOTC: Wow! And tell us more about the brand?

Delia: Iremía is a clothing brand with purpose. Our core is to design trendy, but comfortable loungewear that reflects the modern day virtuous woman with the hopes of combining womanhood and God's message. We actually want to portray that it's possible to feel good and sophisticated with flattering styles while recognising and embracing our image in nature. For me, the brand reflects God's love for us, and expresses my relationship with God, combined with my passion for creating and fashion 

Toni: Our ultimate goal with this brand is to bring people closer to God, through fashion and loungewear, and we want to break the stigma around faith based clothing whilst increasing faith, providing hope and changing lives whilst glorifying creativity. That's the ultimate purpose of the brand.

Delia and Toni: Our best selling products at the moment are the virtuous pink oversized trousers which comes with a virtuous, short sleeve grey top. With our brand, we are very hands on. We designed this based on comfort and high quality. When we think about Iremia, it's not short term, it's all about longevity and quality over quantity - which is how we design. We carefully make the products with our manufacturers. We are very hands-on, starting from the initial design, all the way to the pattern making, samples and then production. With every step, we make sure everything is perfect. We focus on our consumers being able to carry this product with them for different seasons of their lives.
